Each year paint companies come out with their colors of the year. Below is a list of 2022 colors that the well-known paint companies have chosen. Let's start with Pantone, as they are the leaders in color.

PANTONE - The guru of color, we always wait to see what Pantone will choose as their color for the year. Pantone Color Institute is the business unit within Pantone that highlights the top seasonal runway colors, selects the Pantone Color of the Year, forecasts global color trends, and advises companies on color for product and brand visual identity. In 2021 it was a combo of ultimate gray and yellow. This year they are mixing it up with Very Peri 17-3938. Read here how they came up with this bright yet bold color. You may be asking yourself if you are like me, how do I incorporate this color into my home decor? I had to do quite a bit of searching but found a few links that might be helpful. The Pantone Color of The Year is also used as a branding tool for large companies, so you will be seeing everything from tennies to phone covers in Very Peri.

Houzz (which is my go-to for design inspiration) shares photos and suggestions on how to use Very Peri in areas of your home.

If painting a wall, you find this color too much for your taste, read this blog from The Cottage Journal on incorporating sprinkles of Very Peri into your home.

SHERWIN WILLIAMS - Evergreen Fog as described by SW is a versatile and calming hue, a chameleon color of gorgeous green-meets-gray, with just a bit of blue. It's a simple but sophisticated wash of beautiful, organic color for spaces that crave a subtle yet stunning statement shade. Read more here.

BENJAMIN MOORE - October Mist. For 2022 they went with a very earthy palette. With its endless number of invigorating combinations, this palette provides effortless harmony for any paint project and every design style. Get inspired here.

BEHR - Rather than picking just one color for 2022, Behr rounded out a palette reflecting earth tones and a few pastels mixed in with darker hues. Read more about Behr's Colors here.

Of course, neutrals such as light beige, off whites are still a go-to for many designers while incorporating pops of colors. Have fun playing with these colors whether it is with accessories, accent pieces of furniture, or full-on wall color.
